Security measures Booking.com

  1. Update the passwords to your Booking.com accounts extranets. 

  2. Make sure that 2 FA is set up on your Booking.com accounts extranets.

  3. Make sure to review your Booking.com accounts and remove any accounts that you don’t recognize. 

  4. Update your Messaging Preferences on Booking.com


* Please note that Booking.com extranet may have a different view or look depending on property type and type of access/role that your account has. 




1. Updating your password on Booking.com

Navigate to admin.booking.com and Click on "Having troubles signing in?"




Click on "Forgot your password?"


Enter your username for the Booking.com account/accounts if you have more than 1 do this for all of them and click on "Send reset link"


You will now receive an email to the email address associated with your Booking.com account/accounts to reset the password.

2. Make sure that your Booking.com account has 2FA setup:


Navigate to the Profile picture and enter "Security"


Make sure that you have only list of verified and trusted devices on the list and if you need to add a new number click on Add a new number

3. Make sure to review your Booking.com accounts and remove any accounts that you don’t recognize. 


Navigate to the Profile picture and enter "Create and Manage users". 

Go over all users and remove anyone that you do not recognize.

4. Update your Messaging Preferences on Booking.com


Navigate to the "Property" bar on your Extranet account, where you will find the "Messaging Preferences" and "Security settings".


There you have 2 options. 


One is to add email addresses that are the only email addresses allowed to contact your guests. Make sure to add the email address used in your Outgoing email settings in Godo property as well and property@godo.is 



Second option is to list only approved links for sharing with guests, note that if you choose this option you have to make sure that all links that you usually send to guests are approved such as vedur.is or road.is etc. 

Important to Note, that if you choose this option, it may be difficult for you to send guests any Secure payment links as they are all unique.
