How to fix "Not Specified" nationality in Hagstofuskýrsla

When a booking is missing a specific country

By default, if a booking does not have a specified nationality attached to it, the system will assume a default nationality for these bookings to be able to successfully send in the monthly Hagstofuskýrsla. By default this is the nationality of where the property is located. To change this, please read this article.

This may result in inconsistent data for your property and make it more difficult to segment your clientele for sales and marketing purposes. To review and fix reservations with "Not Specified" as the country of the guest, please follow these instructions:


Custom Report to update nationalities: 

The best way to periodically check and update the nationality of your guests to ensure consistent data is to set up a Custom Report with bookings that need updating. For that you take the following steps:


  • Go to Reports - Custom Reports
  • Check-in/-out: Last Month if you are working on Hagstofuskýrsla for the previous month
  • Status: Not Cancelled
  • Booking Field Contains: Country2 (in dropdown) and "Not Specified" in text field
  • Layout: Sortable Table
  • Show Columns
    • Country (selector)
    • whatever other information you would like to see in the list
  • Show Report and then you can click each reservation individually to update the nationality of guests.




Once you open a reservation, the Summary tab will have country in at the bottom where you will be able to update the nationality from Not Specified and save.
